People always complain about the anonymity of the internet allowing users to post hateful things without fear of reproach. But did anyone ever stop to think that said anonymity works both ways?
Sure it may feel hurtful to you directly, but in the end the user you no so little about, knows the exact same about you. The only thing they're badmouthing is an alias and your work.
Now insulting work for the sake of insult is wrong. Not all low scores are people trolling though. You can't please all of the people all of the time.
As for being a girl and being sensitive: that's fine. You're right on one thing, people on NG have no clue when it comes to girls. But you just have to overlook those trolls. "Sticks and Stones..."
If they are taking it too far, like sexual harassment in PMs and on other sites. Then simply report them. That's all you can do. Any more worry only adds to your stress.

Well your not alone. My art gets smashed down all the time. Maybe not here on newgrounds, but definitely at my school. Plus i take crap too. Well that's just a part of my everyday life i guess. But what i can't come to understand is if someone doesn't like a video on newgrounds why do they keep watching it? It's like they watch it just so they can find your flaws and try to destroy you with them (also happens to me when they watch me draw). Well anyway i like your flashes. So all you need to do is think of a smart ass comment to counter those mean ones, put a smiley face at the end so that way they know you mean buisness!! HOO-AH! MARINES!!! YEAH!.........What the hell did i just say?
I know, right? I'm not forcing anyone to look at it, and I most certainly didn't ask to be on the front page. Not that I'm ungrateful, quite the contrary! <3

I've been keeping an eye on those reviews all day and its just pathetic and really sad. I don't mean to be patronizing but I feel sorry for you; you did some great work and people just sit and trash talk when they do nothing.
I'm more than capable of animating quality work but I don't want to submit anything here because there are too many losers that know nothing and trash everything and it ruins this site for people like us.
It's disheartening to hear that you're not gonna submit more work any time soon, but I'd feel the same way given the response your hard work got you.
Anyway, just wanted to make my opinion known. You deserved your award and I thought your work was great. Hopefully you'll stick around 'cause there's a lack of good people on NG.

Stuff like that makes me really angry. If Newgrounds didn't hold emotional value to me, I'd just log off and never log on again. There are so many other portals to upload flashes or art.
You should just ignore the idiots that try to take you down. Flash is one of the hardest programs I've come across, and I couldn't even make a decent frame-by-frame animation !
I hope that you will decide to post your stuff here again.

I like DA because there's support involved.
I like how you use original characters. Hell half the time i prefer original characters than ones that are constantly used. Dont worry about the jerks who insult you for you style or originality. I enjoyed you latest fash and hope to see future ones. The best bet is to most times just ignore them or dont give a reply most people are trolls or believe that thier point counts. Deal with these all the time when I do my youtube videos or flash videos.

Same here, it's way too easy to ride the fame and feelings people have for pre-existing characters for all it's worth. Half the time the flash probably isn't that good but you know, 'haha lol it had SONIC in it and he said PEE omg.'
