yeah, getting stuff to work properly in a Mac is a pain in the ass. PC may not the the best but at least its chaper than Mac. Good luck getting the microphone to work, you're gonna need it.

I hate macs! They are so stupid! i bought a brand mew 2010 mac, guess what happened, it blew up! Im not kidding! The processer just went "!BAM!", bye bye mac. They are such a pian in the @ss! i hope you find a solution to this dilemma of yours

and personally i think the whole pc and mac arguement thing is a bit overrated.
instead of fighting in competition peopel should strive to make better tech for the advancement of integrated entertainment.

don't mean to get technical but w/e

Lol lets hope a Mac vs PC debate doesn't come out over this blog post. One of the reasons I am a avid PC user is for this thing right here. I do love the Mac system and it does do a lot of things easier than PC's do. For the life of me I don't understand how. I know though that Mac for all it's greatness has more than it's share of problems and simple ones like these could easily be fixed. A adapter for that mic shouldn't be to terribly expensive I hope :(

The only thing Macs have over PCs is fewer internet viruses. That's only because macs are incompatable with absolutely ANYTHING that wasn't made by Apple. This makes life very inconvenient as most of the best programs are geared towards PCs. Why do you think they call it "Jailbreaking" when you hack an iPhone to work with other systems. The only place you will ever find any kind of programs or hardwear that work with macs are at stores that specialize in them. Some of the more generic computer stores will have stuff that works too but usualy with fairly limited selection. And god help you if your looking for games. Generaly PCs are less secure but if you find a good enough anti-virus program (or two, I actualy use three just to be safe) you'll be just as safe as on a mac. The only thing that Apple does right is marketing and even that's failing since Windows 7 came out. The only reason so many people were switching to macs a while back is because of how much Vista sucked. People didn't seem to realize that just because one PC OS is trash, it doesn't mean the whole line is. XP works just fine, especialy with modern advances in hardwear. I don't understand how people can think it's easier to switch brands than to just switch to a new computer of the same brand. Different brands have compatability issues in all fields of marketing. Cars, Power tools, Kitchen apliances, Tvs, etc. I don't know why people think computers would be any different, In fact computers have more compatability issues than any other product type in existance... I'm just rambling now. I hope you don't mind me blowing off steam. Good luck with your computer issues. Personaly I'd just sell the thing and put the money towards a new 7 or XP (depending on price range). Though admitedly, I've never used Windows 7. Whatever you do, I would general advise against upgrading or changing the OS. I don't know how it works with macs but I know it can turn out badly with PCs.

if your using a Mac and can buy a PC, then emulate a Windows OS. it can do that very well. i dont personally use a mac but i do own one (being a IT tech major) and from my own experience it runs it pretty well. Look up boot camp and see what works out. (its already on newer versions of Mac but still, look it up for info on it.)
